FINGERPRINT MAGAZINE
FINGERPRINT is a quarterly liberal arts magazine featuring strories about ordinary things around us. The name FINGERPRINT comes from the French saying “Nous avons notre propre empreinte dans la vie.” which means ‘We have our own imprint in life’.
Each issue chooses one ordinary object as a main topic and talks about the unknown stories about the object such as historical/philosophical meaning and people who use/collect/love the object. The key graphic element of FINGERPRINT is an oval frame which is inspired by the shape of actual fingerprint. The oval graphics do not appear only in the cover but also throughout all the pages.
“당신의 삶에는 당신만의 지문이 있다.”는 프랑스 속담에서 그 이름을 가져온 <FINGERPRINT> 매거진은 계간 인문학 잡지로, 우리 주변의 평범한 사물에 주목하여 매호 일상의 사물을 주제로 선정해 이를 통해 건강한 삶, 추억, 경험, 지혜의 세계를 살펴본다.
실제 지문의 생김새에 따라 타원 형태를 키그래픽으로 선정하여, 표지 뿐만 아니라 전체 페이지에 걸쳐 이미지의 프레임 및 그래픽 요소로 활용한다.
